Workers at Porirua PAK’nSAVE are inviting community supporters to join them this weekend at a picket outside the supermarket.
The giant inflatable rat, pictured here outside an Auckland PAK'nSAVE last year, will be making an appearance too.
Saturday and Sunday - 12noon till 2pm both days - November 15 and 16. PAK'nSAVE Porirua, 12 Parumoana Street, Porirua.
Owning a Pak n Save supermarket is like having a license to print money.
This seven day a week business is a hard grind for the people who do the work of stocking the shelves and serving the customers, but the pay they get barely covers the bills.
The owners get richer every day from the sweat of the workers’ in this supermarket but the best pay offer they will make is way below what workers in the Porirua Countdown or Kilbirnie Pak n Save get.
Don’t support Porirua Pak’ n Slave – go to their opposition until they give their workers a decent pay rise.
Anyone who wants a ride out to PAK'nSAVE tomorrow or Sunday - phone Bill on 021 856 074
Also - phone or text the store manager on 0272 097 755 or 04 238 0601 and let him know his workers and their families deserve decent pay to support themselves on.
